The New York Advance Design & Manufacturing Event will highlight 3D Printing


During the dates of June 9th-11th of 2015 the latest in 3D technology will be showcased at UBM Canon’s long-running East Coast advanced design and manufacturing event at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

The schedule for the event will kick off on June 10th with 3D Printing for All Industries. The focus of the day will be “Innovations in 3D Printing”. Kate Weimer the Vice President of Medical Devices of Healthcare for 3D Systems Corporation will give a presentation on the changes in healthcare due to 3D printing.

Weimer is the person behind developing Virtual Surgical Planning. This program allows surgeons to create a 3D model to personalize the planning of surgeries. She also is the lead developer of 3D anatomical modeling and advanced imaging techniques.

Following her presentation Weimer will be joined by some other major names in the 3D industry to discuss the future of 3D printing. June 10th will be solely focused on 3D printing. On the 11th, the focus will shift towards 3D printing in the Medical Community. Topics that will be discussed include materials, tissue engineering, and even plastic surgery.
